  1. ORGANISERS. The Walk is organised by the RAF Walking & Road Marching Association.

  2. START, FINISH & CARPARKING.  The walk starts & finishes at St Mary's Church Hall, The Market Square, Sandbach, Cheshire. CW11 1AT. There is no parking at the church hall – use car park details in paragraph below.

    DIRECTIONS & CARPARKING: Exit M6 at Junction 17, turn onto A534 towards Sandbach/Crewe and in 100 metres opposite petrol station turn right into Congleton Road (signposted Town Centre) and follow to The Commons car park (by Fire/Ambulance Station). On foot, leave car park and pass to the right of the Co-op Pharmacy, continue ahead to emerge on The Cobbles.  St Mary’s Church Hall entrance is between GC Williams & Sons Delicatessen and the Betting Shop.

  3. START & FINISH TIMES.

10 km start between 0900 and 1200.

20 km start between 0900 and 1100.

30 km start between 0900 and 1000.

All routes to finish by 1630.

4.     ENTRY FEES & AWARDS.

1st, 5th & 10th Year Medals: £6.00*

2nd - 16th Year Pins: £5.00*

IVV Stamp/Entry Only : £2.00

* RAF WARMA Members - deduct 50p from entry.

5.    TERRAIN. The walk route will be on public footpaths and bridleways - which may be track, field or canal towpath. There will also be some walking on minor roads and pavements.

6.   WALK SERVICES. Refreshments (free squash and biscuits) will be available at the control points. A comprehensive set of route instrictions will be issued (the route is not way marked). It is suggested you bring a waterprrof cover to put the route instructions in.

7. ENTRY PROCEDURE. You can pre-register and pay on arrival, you will only be charged for those walkers who attend.  Please indicate on the entry form if you wish to pay on arrival.  Please complete the details on the entry form and send to the address given. If you require a receipt or confirmation of entry, please provide an email address  or include a small, stamped self addressed envelope . Cheques should be made payable to "RAF WARMA".  Entry is available on the day of the walk, however you are encouraged to pre-register as this will help us with arranging refreshments at the checkpoints.

RULES

a) The walk is open to any individual or team on submission of the requested information and appropriate entry fee(s).

b) Walkers under 16 years of age MUST have parental consent to enter, and be accompanied by a responsible person.

c) Obey the country and highway codes

d) Anyone spreading litter, causing any form of damage or defacing the route will be disqualified and may face prosecution.

e) The organisers are not liable for accidents, theft and/or damage to property. Every effort will be made by the organisers to make this a safe, enjoyable and memorable event.

f) The walk will take place, whatever the weather.

g) Entry fees are not normally refundable under any circumstances.

h)These events are exempt from the Adventure Activities Licensing Regulations because none of the routes:

·       go over moorland

·       go over 600 metres

·       go more than 30 minutes travelling time from and accessible road

i). Cadet Participants:  If entering as a cadet team or individual (whether wearing uniform or not) you must follow cadet regulations regarding supervision – under 18years of age you must have adult supervision out on route.
